So I decided to do a little writing on the Law of Attraction because I have been feverishly searching the internet for information about it, and I am just not satisfied with what is currently available.

As it turns out, the internet is nothing more than a place where marketers (like myself), research keywords that they can write an article about and thus get some traffic to their website.

The vast majority of high ranking documents on any given topic have little to do with great information.

In fact, you can bet that if the masses agree with it, it most definitely should be questioned. If you want the results that everyone else is getting, then do what they do.

But, if you want something extraordinary.. well that information is seldom what is readily available with a quick Google search.

The Law of Attraction draws what you think about most into your life.
The Law of Attraction works like a magnet, pulling the things that you think about most into existence in your life.

At Awakened Inspiration, we get so many questions each day regarding the Law of Attraction and other spiritual concepts, that I decided to write an article that defines the Law of Attraction to the best of my understanding.

Three years ago, I was beginning my self-development journey, when I suddenly came to a huge realization about myself and the way that I was looking at the world.

I was in big trouble, and I didn’t even know it! I was using the Law of Attraction in reverse. More on that later.

In the process of doing a lot of REBT, and a lot of soul searching, I figured out that I had really been working against myself.

I had failed over and over, and I had nothing to show for all of my effort in life. Nothing except bills, and debt, and that “struggle” that was so real in my mind.

I wondered what had happened to that teenager that was so full of life, and so willing to go out there and make an “impact” on the world..

What happened to my goals and dreams, and why were there so many other people around me who seemed to be doing just fine in life?

Do you sometimes wonder where your goals and dreams went?

Perhaps you have seen the movie “The Secret,” which is an incredible story about the Law of Attraction that features several individuals who have manifested great success in their own lives.

They all discuss their experience with the Law of Attraction, and the concepts of “Like Attracts Like,” “Thoughts Become Things,” Gratitude, Vision Boards, Manifestation, the Law of Vibration, etc..

The film is a very helpful resource as it gives a great introduction to the Law of Attraction from many different people’s perspectives.

Over at Wikipedia, The Law of Attraction is defined as a pseudoscience, and has many critics.

So what is the Law of Attraction, Really?

I first watched “The Secret” years ago, when I was in a very different place in my life.

I recommend watching “The Secret” as soon as possible if you are serious about making the Law of Attraction work for you.

I liked the concept of it, and it sounded nice, but I didn’t have the right state of mind to fully appreciate what the movie was trying to teach me.

It’s very easy to dismiss things as not true when you have no real experience with them.

Today I have direct experience with the Law of Attraction, and I am 100% convinced it works.

I had to flip the script on how I was using the Law of Attraction.
Let’s Get Outside of the Box

In fact, it’s so effective, that it absolutely blows my mind that I ever lived life any other way than I do now.

But the fact is, I did…for almost four decades.

I was a highly opinionated, often cynical, pessimistic individual that had no hope of understanding or implementing this Law in my life.

Except, I was implementing it… Just because I didn’t understand it, didn’t mean it wasn’t in effect…

I was manifesting a life of misery and sorrow, because that’s the way I thought all day long.

Every single thought that you have is creating your unique experience of life.

It’s our own doubts, fears, insecurities, jealousy, pride, ego, resentments, self-pity (the list goes on and on) that cause us to get the results of the Law of Attraction working perfectly.

It works perfectly at keeping us stuck in the same pattern, wondering why things just “never seem to work out” for us, because that is what we are attracting with our thoughts.

So how do we make the Law of Attraction work for us in a positive way?

If I just focus on good things, and only think positive thoughts, then my life will become amazing, right?

Well actually yes, it is that simple in theory…

But it wasn’t until I started shedding all of the layers of bad thinking that I could get to a place where I could use this Law to my advantage. I had to break my old thought habits and clear them away to make room for positive beliefs and dreams.

A daily gratitude practice was vital to this process.

Saying thank you for the good things is a huge step toward using the Law of Attraction to manifest the life you desire.
Gratitude is the key to living life.

As was learning how to be in the present moment, and not worry about the future, or dwell in the past.

Learning how to stop projecting myself onto others, and crippling myself with resentment and insecurity was also critical.

These are all examples of the things I had to do in order to get on the right track and really start creating the life that I wanted to live.

These are the things that you must do as well if you really want the Law of Attraction to work for you in a positive way.

It sounds like a lot of work, I know.

But the work is totally worth it.

It’s far better than I could ever describe to you.

Living free of resentment and anxiety alone is worth any other financial or perceived success I will obtain in the future by using the Law of Attraction to my advantage.

Think I’m crazy?

That’s OK.

I used to think everyone else was crazy too.

But it was me.

I was the crazy one.

And I was the last one to find out!

I don’t want that to happen to you…

I want you to understand that you have amazing gifts and talents in this world that you are robbing us all of by staying stuck.

What the Law of Attraction is NOT

Anti Jesus or any other religions teaching (it actually fits right over the top of all of it). In fact, if you really try to do the things that any major religion truly teaches, you will be using the Law of Attraction in a very positive way by default.

Some hocus-pocus magic wand. – There is a delay. It takes time to achieve the things that you want, but you must not worry or stress out about results during the process. Our need to have everything handed to us on a platter, immediately, will block the progress of the Law of Attraction’s work.

Some “wishful thinking” fantasyland idea – The individuals who perpetuate this belief are often the very same ones that like pointing out bad things about other people instead of building them up. I have never met a single person who has success with the Law of Attraction who believes it to be the stuff of fantasy.

Beware negative people, they will have a problem for every solution.
