How To Begin Practicing The Pause
Before you start worrying, try taking a moment to allow your higher mind to catch up with the facts of your situation. This way you can guide yourself away from fear and painful emotions that aren’t really necessary.
When Robert discovered a puddle of fluid beneath his truck, he tried practicing the pause. Before his mind could run away with every possible negative outcome, he stopped for a second. This habit of waiting a moment before getting upset has brought immense peace and abundance into his life.
Sounds good right? And the truth is, it really is as simple as it sounds. All you have to do is stop… take a breath… and wait a second, before reacting. And just like that, you’re practicing the pause.
The image below is a useful tool for helping you get started on practicing the pause. Print it out (in color if you can), and keep it nearby. Your wallet or your desk are good places to keep it, so that you can easily reach for it when you want try practicing the pause.
Just pull it out and take a look at the scale on the left. Look at the thoughts you were just having, and try to identify what feeling(s) you were experiencing as a result of those thoughts.
