Soul Path Progress: Easing into Shadow Work

One of the best ways to make soul path progress is by listening to the stories of other people’s experiences.

This phase in people’s lives is called many different things: facing the shadow, a dark night of the soul, mirror work, shadow work, etc…

A big factor that is often missed in effective manifestation is that you have to take radical responsibility for where your life currently is. This is necessary in order to create the soul path progress that your inner being truly desires to live out in you.

Without rigorous honesty, you’ll never know what needs to be addressed in order to realize your full potential.

How To Begin Making Soul Path Progress

Your body and brain are hard wired to react to threats by triggering a fight or flight response. This biological programming will cause you to run away as fast as you can, or stay and fight whenever you are threatened.

Your physical and mental reaction to shadow work is much the same: fight or flight.

So, the first step in easing into shadow work and realizing your soul’s path is to approach it diplomatically. This means that you need to be fully aware and accepting of what you’re about to do.

Don’t let this be discouraging.

Simply remind yourself that as long as you’re here on this earth, there is always work to do.

So, why wouldn’t you want to learn the best way to integrate shadow work into your life?

If your initial response to facing your subconscious shadow self is to fight back and cause chaos, it’s imperative that you don’t let fear drive you away.

Again, this is not easy, but it is important. When we react out of fear, we’re more likely to lash out and purposely destroy relationships around us that actually are supportive of our soul’s path.

To avoid doing this, recognize when you’re getting worked up and try to identify the real trigger in the situation.

Why were you triggered?

Are you acting out of emotion? If so, which emotion(s) are you feeling the most strongly?

Is the chaos that’s being created really what you want your life to be?

Answering these questions that can calm you down and help you change your perspective.

If your initial response is flight when you face your shadow self, you must practice not reacting out of fear.

This is no easier than the flight response from a physical threat, but it is just as necessary. When we run from something out of fear, we’re more likely to self-sabotage the very things in our lives that we’ve been working so hard to achieve.

To avoid doing this, take a moment to zoom out and think about the big picture.

Everything you really want is on the other side of that fear.

Remember, isn’t this part of the journey towards what you have been asking for?

Do you feel worthy of the life that you’re trying to manifest?

These are some of the thoughts that can ground you again when you find the urge to run from the challenge is overwhelming.

Sometimes during the process of stepping into our true purpose, certain situations will be manifested before us as hurdles to give us the opportunity to vault into the next level of our awareness.

There are people who will naturally try to go around the hurdles, sit in the same place, or even try to bulldoze through them, but none of these approaches is very effective.

As with anything, your strength increases over time as you face more and more challenges in life. With time, you’ll become more and more confident in your ability to handle such obstacles.

Knowing a few things about yourself, such as your natural talents and weaknesses, can make your “training” easier and more effective.
